Tanya and Roman - Scienceworks in Spotswood, Melbourne
Jim first met Tanya while she was working at the Bendigo Advertiser as a Sports Journalist. When she got in touch to ask us to shoot her wedding we knew it was going to be a fun day! Tanya and Roman had decided on a winter wedding at Scienceworks in Spotswood and we couldn’t wait to explore all of the great photo opportunities.
When we arrived the boy’s were eating pies and watching the footy with beers in hand. Tanya told Roman the the only thing she wanted from the morning was photo with Roman and their cat Elby! It wasn’t long before the lads were suited up so we headed across to see Tanya.
Tanya and the girls were getting ready in her parent’s house which was a perfect backdrop. She had chosen a stunning Anna Campbell dress, when she walked out of her room with her dress on everyone was so excited to see her for the first time.
It was raining outside and the light was fading but is was cozy inside the Pumping Station at Scienceworks where the ceremony was going to be held. The guests gathered and took their seats as Roman waited with the boys up the front, watching the back doors, eagerly awaiting Tanya’s arrival. The look on his face said it all as his bride to be walked in with her father by her side.
After the ceremony we organised the group selfie with a giant selfie stick. While we were taking some rain photos in the Pumping Station courtyard, Tanya and Roman’s family and friends were watching a show in the Planetarium. As the guests moved in to enjoy some drinks and canapes in Sportsworks, Tanya and Roman took a moment to enjoy the empty planetarium and gaze up at the night sky.
Party time! The reception kicked off in the Boiler Room as the Bridal Party was introduced to a cheering crowd! Roman’s parents played 3 live songs for everyone before some great speeches were delivered. The cake was cut to a semicircle of iPhones as Tanya and Roman had organised a printer that printed every photo posted to instagram with the #romanandtanya. These photos printed almost instantly in the corner of the room, very cool!
The festoon lights around the huge room made for a grand scene as Tanya and Roman enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife. From here on the dance floor come alive with guests partying into the night.
